Son Triay

Menorca / Menorca / Ferreries

Son Triay is situated alone on a small hilltop amongst 126 hectares of countryside consisting of meadows and woods. Its red painted facade outlined with ornate white painted columns and arches can be seen from the road that leads to the secluded cove of Cala Galdana.

The original property was called Binicalssitx, but in 1800 after being burned by Moorish pirates it became known as Son Triay.

It is one of the islands mansions most representative of the neo-colonial style. With many influences added during the British domination of the island.

The view from the from the west facing wing is even more beautiful, with its extensive double stairway that borders the entrance to the small private chapel. Its terrace looks out toward a copse of pines and green fields to the sea.

Dedicated to rural tourism since 1995. The ground floor is dedicated to our visitors. It has three rooms, a typical country kitchen, lounge and conservatory opening to a lawn that surrounds the beautiful swimming pool

All our rooms are furnished with traditional furnishings typical on the island. Also very popular is the old staff cottage converted into a comfortable rustic apartment. The typical Menorcan breakfast of fresh bread, pastries, preserves and local spicy sausages is served in the garden. The farm has many pretty walks within its own grounds
