Renamed Cyclists as Alejandro Valverde, Laurent Jalabert or Alex Zulle have won the Challenge. But Pablo Cabello from Granada, Spain was the cyclist who won more editions, three of them (1996, 2000 and 2002). Also other important names from modern cycling have taken part sometimes in the Challenge. For example Induráin, Armstrong, Rominger or Chiapucci in 90’s or Paolo Bettini, Óscar Freire, Tom Boonen, Óscar Pereiro, Dennis Menchov, Alberto Contador and many others in the first decade of XXI century cycled in Mallorca.
Due its format and for organizing and climate conditions that find the cyclists in Majorcan Winter to start cycling, the Challenge is an attractive competition for important international teams. There was no edition where the Majorcan fan cannot see some of the best cyclists of the time. Bet for the stars and high competition level was the motto of Unisport Consulting like sport success and media guarantee.
